The Arts Academy Welcomes New Athletic Director

                     New A.D. has plans for building a comprehensive sports program.

The Arts Academy would like to welcome Coach Doug Taylor Jr., as the new Athletic Director and newest member of our team!

This season, Doug Taylor coached our basketball team, and led our boys to the OCSAA Basketball Tournament. The Arts Academy team went on to become District Champions under his leadership.

            Coach Taylor is originally from northern Ohio.  He graduated in 1997 from Admiral King HS, where he played basketball and received the Lorain County Division 1 Player of the Year Award.  As a 4 year Varsity Letterman, Taylor went on to Tiffin University.  He excelled in his skill and became a 2-time All League Performer. After graduating with a degree in Sports Management.   Taylor decided to dedicate his life to teaching youth which aligns with the mission and vision of The Arts Academy.  Coach Taylor states, “I plan to bring a strong athletic foundation.  I have a passion for helping students succeed at the highest level.”  We are elated to have Doug Taylor on The Arts Academy team.

Cheerleading:
 Pride and Excellence

The cheerleading team is committed to inspiring pride, determination, and a sense of community in the Arts Academy community. The cheerleading squad supports all of our athletic programs. Our strength lies in the building of character, discipline, and confidence within the cheer department. We expect that all of our cheer members meet high standards academically and in personal conduct. The Arts Academy cheer team is expected to represent our fine institution with dignity and grace.
